What You Need to Know About Covid-19 Vaccines: The vaccines were developed so quickly. How do I know they are really safe? The science behind the vaccines was to be thoroughly tested, vetted, and rolled out faster than usual: First reason: The science behind the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, goes back 30 years. Second, the infectious disease at the University of California Berkeley, sped the process up. They needed a certain number of cases to occur to prove the shot is effective, and with so much COVID circulating around, it was easy for the trials to be completed. How do we know the vaccine won’t give us COVID? You can’t get COVID from Moderna or Pfizer vaccinations because they don’t contain the virus, People who’ve had side effects most commonly reported about one to two days of muscle pain, fatigue, and or headache. A few have had a severe allergic response to the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. Check always with your Doctor. If I get vaccinated can I stop wearing a mask? No, Although you can be fairly confident that you won’t get COVID once vaccinated. Once vaccinated studies show 95% efficacy. Will the vaccines protect against new strains? Good news is that mRNA technology is easily adaptable, and both companies are working on boosters to help with the new strains.

Transportation: is still being handled by the North Central Montana Transit. This change seems to be going very well. If you need a ride call 406-265-4762. They would appreciate a 24-hour notice for local rides and a 48-hour notice for Great Falls trips.

SCAMS: Scam Calls are still widespread. Text messages and emails are also becoming popular. Do not respond to any of them. Do not even open them, just delete them. Medicare isn’t issuing gold cards. Talk to someone in the community before you consider a reverse mortgage.

Commodities: If you are interested in receiving commodities, we still have a few select openings. You can sign up at the Senior Center, fill out an application and find out if your income falls within the guidelines.
