The past few months have been a busy time for Havre Lions Club.
In August, Lions supported National Night Out by donating $1010 for food.
August 24: Lions began work on Natalie Patrick Splash Park pump house. They constructed forms for the floor of the Natalie Patrick Splash Park pump house. Pouring and finishing 18 yards of concrete for the floor and foundation.
September 7: Lions supported the Annual Fly In by cooking breakfast from 7 to 11 at the Havre Hill County Airport.
September 21: Lions walked in the festival day parade with the Alberta bagpipers. Lions sponsored their appearance for Festival Days, donating $2,000. Lions also cooked Pronto Pups at Downtown Park. Thanks to all that supported our fundraising, by purchasing a pronto pup. We also thank all those who support us at the Great Northern Fair earlier this year.
Lions donated $1,000 supporting NAMI Walk.
October 9 Lions cooked 199 burritos for the Northern Lights Athletic Scholarship Foundation Legends for Lights Pheasant Jamboree hunt. Also, on Sunday the 13 Lions cooked shrimp for the hunt’s Sunday closing dinner. This is the 24th year for the hunt, which Lions has cooked and helped out at all.
October 17: 14 Lions cleaned U.S. Highway 2 ditches east of Havre.
October 24: Lions framed the walls of the Natalie Patrick Splash Park Pump House.
November 6: 3 Lions and one Kiwanian spent the afternoon building trusses for the Natalie Patrick Pump house.
November 11: a large group of Lions placed trusses on pump house and sheeted it.
December 12: Lions covered the pump house with plastic framed in the doors and closed operations on it until spring.
Lions donated $1,000 to the community food bank
December 14: 19 Lions rang bells for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive at Gary & Leo’s Fresh Foods along with North 40. Lions collected $2,912.08, which they matched for a total of $5,824.16 that was donated to the Salvation Army. Lions’ thanks all those that contributed to the Red Kettle Drive.
