Obitaury - Harmon 'Lee' Henderson

Harmon "Lee" Henderson, 80, passed away due to natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Cremation has taken place, and per Lee's wishes, no services will be held.

His family has suggested memorial donations be made in Lee's memory to the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen, City of Havre Parks and Recreation, Havre Hill County Library, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Lee was born on September 30, 1944, in Havre to Virgil and Zelma (Long) Henderson. He was raised in Havre, graduating from Havre High School in 1962.

Lee attended Northern Montana College, graduating with a bachelor's degree in math and biology in 1966. He worked as a teacher for a few years in eastern Montana, and then attended San Bernardino-Riverside State College, from which he received his master's degree in education. He returned to Montana teaching for a few more years, and then began working for Burlington Northern Railroad as a clerk. The company transferred Lee to Topeka, KS, where he remained until his retirement after over 30 years with BN. Upon retirement, he returned to Havre.

Lee was a very quiet, community-minded man who supported city parks and volunteered at Feed My Sheep six days a week. He enjoyed reading, and watching television and movies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Zelma Henderson; brothers Cary L. and Roy Henderson; and sister Dorothy Henderson.

Lee is survived by his sister Ella (Doug) Rhodes of Champion, Alberta, Canada; brothers Mitch (Barb) Henderson of Havre and James (RoAnn) Henderson of Lincoln, NE, and several nieces and nephews.
