Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

We woke, dear, Lord, first day - NEW MONTH; also, a brand-new year! Hurry and dress, do a few things; check if there's still TEN deer!

Seems they forgot their Mountain home; they LIKE hill-tops and trees. They dash and nibble here and there, or rest down on their knees.

It's cold up here- it's WINTER TIME - today the sky is BLUE!  A little neighbor girl's so cute, she loves to wear blue, too!

'Mike' said we ought to have a list of things we NEED TO DO! New Day - New Year, he wrote and wrote; he listed quite a few!

A phone call came: "Nana, you write, like Mama says you do, 'bout Northern Lights - gorgeous display - their many-colored hue.

They're 'spiritual', they light the world, dancing across the sky. Not many folks have seen these lights; "Cold weather helps one spy!"

Joy to the WORLD, our teacher sang: "Let earth receive her KING!" She and our class sang the whole song - it was such fun to sing.

We know that song announced Jesus; God made our lives to flow. God makes His blessings just for us - we are to love and grow.

All this is great for a New Year - Joy to OUR WORLD and more. We sing and work, for our Lord reigns, it's Him we're to adore.

For when we pause and look about - Heaven and Nature sing! The trees and sky, rocks, hills and plains, New Year's headed to SPRING!

As we left school, she sang: "Joy to the WORLD" - wonders of His LOVE. We are to sing and show our love; soon we'll met Him above!
