Grief Poem - A NEW YEAR BEGINS

Three more flew off, they left last week, but they were not from here.

Their folks had friends who live nearby -they visited each year.

One had turned three, a little girl; she smiled as she 'flew off.'

She'd not been well, her Mama said, she'd had a terrible cough.

The second one was middle school, she was a brilliant girl.

Her cause of death is not yet known, but she was Dad's cowgirl.

The third girl's death, a sudden shock - the street was slick with ice.

The guy across told her to stop, he hollered at her twice!

But Patty was in a hurry - maybe she didn't hear!

She ran and slipped and cracked her head, the news we've heard, not clear!

These three dear girls had precious folks, all of them loved the Lord.

Their families were a special group, they daily read God's Word.

Now as the Holidays have passed, they share some thoughts with friends.

"Glory to God"[1] - "We know they're' home, their life there never ends".

Families are blessed throughout the year, with their three girls now gone.

But things pop up - reminding folks, like hearing their favorite song.

We know dear Lord, that You're in charge when loved ones go to You.

These loved ones now have gone 'back home' - some day we'll be there too.

Though these three girls lived far apart, they'd passed the 'test' of LOVE;

For now, they live with their 'kin folks' who all live now above.

We move through what we share, dear Lord, praising and love each day.

For those who mourn, lets offer love and cheer, and help each day.
