The Havre High girls basketball team closed out 2024 on a high note. The Blue Ponies won both of their games at the East-West Showdown last weekend in Billings.
Last Friday, Havre toppled Hamilton 73-32. The Ponies used a 19-4 run in the second quarter to pull away from the Broncs. Tierra Parker and Ari Gary each scored 16 points in the victory for the Ponies.
Head coach Tommy Brown's team then finished the weekend with another dominant win on Saturday afternoon. Improving to 5-1 on the season, the Ponies crushed Butte Central 61-16. Havre's defense held Butte Central to just nine points in the first half and scoreless in the third period.
Gary led all scorers with 17 points, while Amaya Jarvis chipped in with 15. Tierra Parker and Olivia Keller each scored 10 points as well.
Havre will now be off until Jan. 4 when the Ponies host Laurel.
