Pony matmen compete at Mining City Duals

The Havre High boys wrestling team is a fixture at the annual Mining City Duals in Butte.

And last weekend, Havre was bad in the Mining City for the 2024 edition.

Last Friday, Havre competed in Pool 1 where the Ponies were defeated by Billings West 77-3, Three Forks 48-36 and Helena Capital 54-24. Havre also dropped a dual on Saturday to Frenchtown 57-18 before bing eliminated by Missoula Big Sky 54-29 in the consolation bracket.

Last weekend also saw the Havre High girls take 13th place in the Flathead Girls Invitational in Kalispell.

Individually, Aubrey Cavan placed first at 100 pounds, while Isabella Cowan was fourth at 100. Alliyson Kaul placed sixth at 105 pounds, while McKenna Caplette was fifth at 125.

The Havre High wrestling teams will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at the CMR Holiday Classic in Great Falls.
