Havre boys win home opener against East Helena

The home opener of the 2024-25 season was a successful one for the Havre High boys basketball team.

On Saturday afternoon at the Havre High gymnasium, the Blue Ponies beat the East Helena Vigilantes 68-54. Havre went up by as many as 25 points in the first half and never looked back as Dax Oswalt, Matt Huse and Brayden Ereaux each scored 16 points and Tre Gary added 13 as Havre improved to 2-1 on the season.

The Ponies lost their first game of the new season last Thursday as they fell at Lockwood, 71-51. Havre fell behind early on and couldn't catch up in the tough loss to the Lions.

Huse paced the Ponies with 14 points, while Tre Gary added nine.

Havre will now prepare to close out 2o24 with the Lockwood Tip-Off Tournament in Billings where the Ponies will Face Hamilton and Butte Central.
