Blue Ponies split with Lions, Vigilantes

Playing at home for the first time this season, the Havre High girls dominated last Saturday inside the HHS gymnasium.

The Blue Ponies, of first-year head coach Tommy Brown, defeated East Helena 74-39.

Sierra Parker scored a game-high 17 points for the Ponies, while Amaya Jarvis had 16 and Ari Gary had 14.

The win was a big bounce-back for the Blue Ponies after they lost a heartbreaker at Lockwood last Thursday, 52-51.

In the back-and-forth game, the Ponies had one look at a game-winning shot, but it didn't fall. Havre did get 11 points from Jarvis and 10 from Gary.

The Ponies are now 2-1 on the young season. Havre will now prepare to close out 2o24 with the Lockwood Tip-Off Tournament in Billings where the Ponies will Face Hamilton and Butte Central.
