Henry was born in Gildford, MT, on November 24, 1928, to Edward and Margaret Jane Sapp. He was the tenth of eleven children. He attended the Grainbelt school north of Havre west of the Wildhorse highway until 8th grade, where in the family moved into Havre and Henry entered Havre schools. While growing up on the farm, he helped his folks with chores and also helped out Halcie Stallcop as well as Clifford and Katie Springer, in the process making lifelong friends. On January 3, 1948, he married Juliet Patterson in Malta, and the couple had three children. Henry hired out on the Great Northern Railroad in the old roundhouse on November 7, 1945, and then transferred over to the new Diesel shop in early 1946. After this move, Henry was promoted from laborer to sheetmetal helper, and eventually he became a sheetmetal/pipefitter, working full time until retirement in late November 1989 with 44 years of service.

Henry enjoyed retirement, riding his motorcycle to visit family and old friends. He also kept busy helping his folks where there was always someone to visit. Henry and Juliet also enjoyed traveling to visit children and grandchildren wherever they landed.

Henry and Juliet lived in Highland Park until 1966, and then bought a house on 7th Avenue, living there until Juliet started having trouble with dementia. They decided to sell, and moved to the Eagles Manor. Juliet passed away October 7, 2015, at the Care and Comfort Home, after which Henry moved to a smaller apartment in the Manor. He eventually started having mobility problems, and moved to the Care and Comfort facility in Highland Park. He was back on Cleveland Ave where he started many years ago.

While at Eagles Manor, the Angel Care staff provided care for Juliet and Henry, and April Custer and her crew took great care of both Juliet and Henry in their later years.

He outlived his wife, Juliet, who passed October 2, 2015; his folks, Edward and Margaret Sapp; as well as his siblings, Grace, Minnie, Dorothy, Bernice, Glenna, Dewayne, Beryl, Faye, Edwin, and Larry Sapp; and his daughter-in-law, Carla Sapp February 11, 2022.

Henry is survived by his children, Jenni (Tom) Scott of Worden, MT, Patsy (Steve) Smart of Three Forks, MT, and Bruce Sapp of Azle, TX; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
