Press release
Back by popular demand, the Hi-Line Arts Council announced it is once again hosting a live holiday concert with renowned pianist Philip Aaberg on Sunday, December 15th at 2:00PM in the Havre High School Auditorium. Aaberg is a Chester native who has received both Grammy and Emmy nominations and is Harvard educated. Christmas From The Hi-Line will be a family friendly, high-spirited concert that evokes the vastness and grandeur of Montana through music.
"The Arts Council is honored to welcome Phil Aaberg back to the Hi-Line to put all of us in the Christmas spirit. This will be an exciting, family-friendly event to help usher in the holiday season" said Melanie Skoyen, president of the Hi-Line Arts Council. "December is full of holiday traditions and we certainly hope Christmas from the Hi-Line is on everyone's schedule."
This year the concert will also feature over 20 Havre High School band students, who will perform a holiday number with Aaberg. "We are especially excited about this year's Christmas concert because of the addition of the incredible talent we have locally through the music program at Havre High School," Skoyen said.
Admission to the concert is $20 for adults, $10 for students/seniors/military and free for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the door, online at hilineartscouncil.org or at the following outlets: Havre Area Chamber of Commerce, & Company Apparel and Design, Bear Paw Meats and The Computer Center.
The concert is made possible through the generosity of several sponsors, including Altana Federal Credit Union, Northern Montana Health Care, Havre Area Chamber of Commerce, Bear Paw Development Corporation, MSU-Northern, Montana Actors Theatre, Gary and Leo's IGA, Triangle Communications, Debbie Vandeberg, AmericInn, Black and White Farms, Koefod Agency and Duchscher Kapperud Insurance.
"I am so pleased to be coming back to Havre to help celebrate the holiday season and spread a little bit of Christmas cheer on the Hi-Line," Aaberg said. "This concert has become a great tradition. I have been giving solo piano Christmas concerts for nearly 40 years and it's one of my favorite things to do. The holiday season brings out the best in people, so let's celebrate the spirit of the Hi-Line and enjoy the season."
