The Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team returned to the hardwood last Friday and made the most out of their only game last week.
The Skylights beat Embry-Riddle 79-73 in Great Falls.The Skylights got off to a slow start going down 22-14 in the first quarter. Northern stayed with the Eagles in the second quarter going into halftime 36-27. The Skylights cut the lead going into the third quarter 53-52. The Skylights take the fourth quarter by seven to take the game.
The Skylights were led by Canzas HisBadHorse, who had a career-high as a Skylight with 29 points and 13 rebounds. Taya Trottier added a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists. The Eagles were led by Ella Schott with 22 points going 50 percent from the field. Zakiirah King added 17 points. Sydney Mickulin led the team in rebounds with seven.
The 3-2 Skylights head to North Dakota this weekend for games at Valley City State and Dickinson State.
