Lights cage Bears in regular season finale

The Montana State University-Northern Lights got a much-needed win. And it came on the last day of the 2024 Frontier Conference football season.

On senior day at Tilleman Field, the Lights beat Rocky Mountain College 19-13 for their first Frontier Conference win in over two years.

The Lights scored 19 unanswered points after trailing 7-0. Devin Shelton caught a 22-yard RD pass and Lucas Thacker scored on a run to put the Lights up 12-7 at halftime.

Zach Brooks then capped off an 80-yard drive in the fourth quarter to put MSU-N up 19-7. The Northern defense did the rest from there.

Northern tallied 339 yards of total offense (242 rushing), while the Battlin' Bears accounted for 292, of which 264 yards were in the air.

The Lights finished the season 1-7 in the Frontier and 1-9 overall.
