John W. Sharp, 79, passed away October 25th, 2024, in Litchfield Park, Arizona, with his family by his side.
John was born February 16th, 1945, in Jamestown, NY to Clifford and Marion Sharp. John graduated from Brocton High School in 1963. After high school, John joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Great Falls, Montana.
John married Darlene Wilson, his wife of almost 45 years (16 days short) November 10th, 1979, in Havre, Montana. Before retiring, John worked at Havre Distributors. They moved to Washington State in 1992 where they lived until moving to Arizona to be closer to their girls. John was a very devoted NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan. He loved watching his three girls play softball and he never missed a game or practice. He helped coach the girls as well, whether that was on or off the field. John loved playing golf and attending The Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA, for many years. One of the highlights of his life was actually playing 18 holes of golf at Augusta National.
John had two brothers (Tom Sharp and Randy Sharp) and a sister (Janet Emerson), as well as a sister-in-law (Marlene Malone) who preceded him in death.
John is survived by his wife, Darlene, Goodyear, AZ; daughters, Emily Strojek (Brandon), Phoenix, AZ, Jenna Sharp, Seattle, WA, Jenny Sharp, Tucson, AZ and a son, Rick Sharp, Mesa, AZ; two granddaughters, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery in Havre, Montana, Wednesday, November 27th, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
