New native-owned business brings digital innovation and opportunity to Fort Belknap and beyond

Charles Werk, a member of the Gros Ventre Tribe from the Fort Belknap Indian Community, founded InnoNative Solutions LLC, to specialize in creating custom websites, mobile apps, and software solutions that look great and drive results.

"I built Innonative Solutions to bring technology and opportunity back to my community, helping to drive growth through digital education, job creation, and support for other Native-owned businesses," said Werk, founder and CEO.

Werk received an Associate of Science degree in computer information systems from Aaniiih Nakoda College on Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and recently earned his Bachelor of

Science in Computer Science from University of Montana.

He said he is driven to make a meaningful impact and is committed to

providing culturally respectful, high-quality tech services that empower local businesses and create opportunities for education, employment, and entrepreneurship. His long-term vision is to scale Innonative Solutions to become a trusted partner in digital innovation for Native communities, offering mentorship and collaborative partnerships to support the next generation of Indigenous entrepreneurs.

"Starting a business is scary but exciting," Werk said. "I'm grateful to all those who supported me along the way. The tech world needs more Indigenous people. I'm ready to step into the role and help Montana businesses reach the next level."

In earning his computer science degree at UM, Werk focused on software engineering. While at UM, he was a digital marketing intern with Montana High Tech Business Alliance, where his analytical approach boosted online engagement by 20%. He was instrumental in coordinating the inaugural convening with the Department of Indian Affairs, Crayton Consulting, and other stakeholders to discuss technology challenges and opportunities in Indian Country to understand where regional technology companies and partnerships could have the most impact.  

Some of his notable business successes include;

Creating a website design for Native American-owned business Starquilts247.com and it experienced a surge in online orders, leading to a fully booked schedule until the middle of the following year.

Automating the product labeling system for Caras Nursery in Missoula to reduce manual errors and streamline inventory tracking, resulting in increased sales and a smoother customer experience.
