Students received a printout of their total word count thus far and decided whether they wanted their total to go towards the Bobcats or the Grizzlies.
"Let me tell ya, the competition was heated," Miller said. "I was so impressed by our student body buckling down, acing tests and helping their team pull ahead."
The winner was announced last Friday and the school is flying the flag of the winner today.
The count of words read came to:
Cats: 18,970,480.
Griz: 17,065,734.
"We are so beyond proud of our students' hard work and dedication towards reaching their reading goals," Miller added.
