Skylights beat Battlin' Bears at home

The Montana State University-Northern volleyball team bounced back in a big way.

On Pink Day at the Armory Gymnasium, the Skylights volleyball team beat Rocky Mountain College Saturday in Havre.  The MSU-Northern Skylights beat the Battlin' Bears in four sets (25-18, 25-11, 19-25, and 25-19). The Skylights put together a 7-0 run to take the lead 12-7. They kept the lead to take the set. In the second set, the Skylights went on a 11-1 run to push the lead 19-7. They finished strong to take the set. The third set Rocky went on a 7-0 run at the end to push the lead to take the match into four sets. The score went back and forth until the Skylights put together 6-2 run to take the match.

The Skylights were led by Alana Graves with 17 kills and a hitting percentage of .467. Macee Murphy had 14 kills, and led the team in digs with 20. Emily Feller led the Skylights with 29 assists.

The win over Rocky came after Northern dropped a 3-0 decision at No. 13 Providence last Wednesday in Great Falls.

The Skylights were led by Jessalyn Chvilivek with 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .500. Alana Graves had nine kills. Macee Murphy led the Skylights with 12 digs and 20 assists.

The Skylights are 3-6 in the Frontier, and will host Montana Tech on Thursday night.
