HHS harriers ready to run at state

The Havre Blue Pony cross country team go themselves ready for the Class A state meet as they competed at the Eastern A Fall Classic in Glendive last week. 

The Blue Pony girls came in 3rd place as a team and the boys 10th.

On the girls side, Hailey Gingery led the way with a 19:58.24 good for 10th place individually. The next Havre runner to finish was Ela Harbor with a 21:26.01. Marley Springer had a 21:34.96 finishing 18th individually, followed by Gracie Shandorf with a 21:37.37 in 20th. Rounding out the Blue Pony girls was Harper Wendland in 34th place individually with a 22:56.8, Ariel Ost with a 23:01 and 35th place, and Paige Anderson with 40th and 23:20.9.

For the Pony Boys, Mason Gregoire took 18th place individually with a 17:48. Koby Preputin had a 18:36.6 good for 32nd place individually. Brayden Nimmick came in at 19:02.1 to take 45th place and Eric Messinger and Wyatt Anderson rounded things out with their 20:35.2 and 22:19.9, good for 61st and 66th place.

Now, all of the varsity Blue Ponies will run at the Montana State Cross Country Meet this Saturday at the University of Montana Golf Course in Missoula.

In pool play on Friday, Havre beat Corvallis 30-24, beat Livingston 30-26, beat Libby 30-12, lost to Butte Central 30-25 among their pool play matches to finish fifth overall.

The Ponies then lost out in the consolation bracket Saturday morning. Still it was a good two days of competition for the Post volleyball team who is getting closer and closer to the postseason.

And the Ponies continued their march towards November with a match against Browning at home on Tuesday night. They'll also host the Sidney Eagles in a conference match this Saturday at the HHS gymnasium.
