Another Friday night, another Eastern A win for the Havre High football team.
Last Friday saw the Blue Ponies crush the Sidney Eagles 41-12 for their fifth straight victory.
The game began with both teams trading touchdowns.
Tate Nelson opened the scoring for Havre on a 33-yard touchdown run to make it 6-0. Sidney marched right down the field with a 60-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 6-6. The Blue Ponies answered right back to take a 13-12 lead that they would not relinquish. The Eagles scored yet again on their next possession, but failed to tie things up and Havre went right back down the field and made it a two-possession game after a two-point conversion at 21-12.
And the Blue Ponies never looked back. Griffin Terry would add one more score in the first half to give Havre a 28-12 lead. Coming out of the break, Havre added two more scores to take a commanding 41-12 lead as the HHS defense pitched a shutout in the second half.
With a playoff berth clinched, the Ponies look to lock up a top seed in the upcoming Class A tournament when they host the Lewistown Golden Eagles this Friday for senior night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Blue Pony Stadium.
