Diana was born March 20, 1953, in Fort Belknap to John Gilbert and Nancy (Knife) Meyers. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there. Following high school, Diana attended LaNae Beauty College and graduated in the mid-’80s. She became a cosmetologist, working for many years at the beauty school and at home. She also worked as an administrative assistant for various tribal programs for some time, and as a wildland firefighter for the tribe, as well.

Diana enjoyed taking pictures, walking and hiking outdoors, and gardening. She was a very traditional woman who spent her time braiding sweetgrass with her husband, sweats, sundancing, drying and cutting meat, and hunting. She adored her family, and took in many of her nieces and nephews to raise. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her husband says she was the best wife a man could ever have.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Gilbert and Nancy Meyers; siblings John Edwin and Duane Meyers, Lionell John Stevens, Karen Jo Meyers and Bonnie Jean Meyers.

Diana is survived by her husband, Dave Upchurch of Stockett; children, Priscilla (Ronny Jo Henry, Jr.) Morsette, Melvin (Lisa Henderson) Morsette, Jr., Alfred C. (Chancy) Morsette, and Bill Louis Morsette, all of Rocky Boy; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Donald Goodvoice, older twin brother, and Henry and Tommy FourSouls, all of Rocky Boy; sisters Maria Sponsler of Havre, Edna Meyers of Box Elder, Betty (Mark) Collins of Rocky Boy, Carol Meyers of Havre and Desiree (John Gardipee) Writing Bird and Nancy Marie Meyers, all of Rocky Boy; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
