Roland was born January 13, 1936, in Havre to Charles and Helen (Peterson) Gould. At an early age, he began working as a mechanic, later purchasing what became G & B Motors, which he operated.

While in high school, Roland met Peggy Jo Ruff, and the couple married in 1955. They had two daughters, who they raised in Havre. In the late ’60s, Roland began working construction, and really enjoyed it. He finally retired at the age of 75.

When Peggy Jo passed away in 2021, they had been married for 66 years.

Over the years, Roland enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, playing various games, camping and picnics, and old car trips with friends. He possessed an incredible memory, and worked crosswords and loved to read daily up until the last few years. Roland absolutely adored Peggy Jo, and he cherished his daughters and granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jo; parents, Charles and Helen Gould; brothers, Chuck, Benton and Floyd; and sisters, Irene, Carol, Yvonne, and Mary.

Roland is survived by his daughters, Joni (Bob) Schubert and Linda (Bruce) Leeds, all of Havre; granddaughter, Kaylee (Brandon) Shirtliff; great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
