Pony runners compete in Missoula

The Havre High cross country teams faced their biggest challenge of the season so far, as last Saturday, the Blue Ponies competed in the Mountain West Invitational in Missoula.

The meet featured more than 3,000 runners from Montana and beyond, and was great competition for the Ponies.

The Havre boys placed 61st n the event, and were led individually by Mason Gregoire, who finished in 18:15.6. Koby Preputin and Brayden Nimmick finished in times of 20:16.2 and 20:21.2, respectively. Eric Messinger and Wyatt Anderson also participated for the Blue Ponies.

On the girls side, Havre finished 62nd overall.

Hailey Gingery had the Ponies' best time with a 21:11.9. Marley Springer clocked in at 22:51.6 and Harper Wendland ran a 26:04.2 for the Ponies.

Havre will next run at the Great Falls Invitational this Friday at Anaconda Hills Golf Course in Great Falls.
