Property Tax town hall set for Havre

Montana Department of Revenue will be in Havre next Wednesday to try to help people understand how property taxes work in the state.

DOR’s Property Assessment Division will hold a town hall in Havre at Havre High School from 6 to 8 p.m.

“Property tax determination is a complex process in Montana, with state and local governments working together to accurately update and maintain Montana”s property valuation records,” an ad for the town halls says.

DOR and local county governments are jointly hosting the town halls in 26 communities, the ad says.

The town halls started Aug. 27 in Missoula and will close Oct. 10 in Virginia City.

People can register to attend a virtual version of the town hall by registering at https://mtrevenue.gov/townhallsmt .
