HHS netters host big tournament 

The Havre High volleyball team played host to an excited preseason tournament this past weekend as 11 teams covered on Havre for the Havre Tip-Off Tournament.

The round-robin tournament, held at the HHS gymnasium and the Armory Gymnasium, featured the Ponies, Lewistown, Sidney, Glendive, Miles City, Polson, Ronan, Bigfork, Browning, Malta and Rocky Boy.

On the opening day, Havre beat Malta 2-1 and took care of Browning, before playing Bigfork in a tough match.

Saturday saw Havre finish up the tourney with matches against Western A foes Polson and Ronan. In all, the tournament 26 matches over two days in two different guys and was an excellent way for the Ponies to continue to get ready for Eastern A Conference play as the Ponies went 4-1 overall at home.

And the Ponies will now travel to Hardin to face the powerhouse Bullldogs on Friday night. HHS also takes on Glendive Saturday afternoon in Glendive.
