The $60 million "message" to Montanans

$60 million is the current total raised from corporate/other donations by Montana Senate Candidates reported by the Federal Election Commission (FEC). FEC is vague if the total includes Super Political Action Committee (PAC) donations. The $60 million? Likely higher.

As a former legislative aide at the U.S. Capitol for over four years we kept “The List.” Top money donors on top; $5 donors on bottom.

Direction was “Always Check The List” if a donor called requesting time with the member of Congress. Top donors saw “the Boss.” $5 donors met with staff.

“The List” was always backwards. $5 contributors discuss “good government” actions from Congress. Like audits—and penalties—on companies “fixing” high prices on groceries, rents, and prescriptions. $5 contributors need to get that message to Congress.

Top donors deliver “business as usual” for billion-dollar annual profits.

Do you believe the best way to spend $60 million is on endless TV adds, and mailers cramming our mailboxes?

What can $60 million do for Montana? $30 million for teacher pay raises; $30 million for three new K-12 schools. Warren and Central Elementary schools rank #3 and #5 respectively based on math and reading proficiency test scores according to Public School Review. Time to reward these and other schools.

Flip “The List” upside down for $5 donor “good government” actions for Congress. $60 million campaign contributions can be put to better use.
