Kade was born May 29, 1996. He graduated from Havre High School in 2014 and earned his Eagle Scout Rank the same year.

With his outgoing and caring personality there wasn’t anyone he met who didn’t become “family.” Kade loved with all his heart and when you met him the first thing you noticed was his smile.

He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends. He rode dirt-bikes and enjoyed mud bogging and working on anything that had an engine.

He always looked out for people, you didn’t have to be his friend for him to defend or protect the underdog. He would always help when asked, offered his help to teachers, community members or just someone he saw that needed it. In 2013 Kade was honored for saving a fellow students life by using the Heimlich maneuver.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chauncey Erroll and Georgiann (Brown) Steinmetz; paternal grandparents, Boulder “Rocky” and Nancy (Kiszczak) Lanier; and step-father, Kaylub Maetche.

Kade is survived by his mother, Stacy Steinmetz; his father, William “Bill” Lanier; his siblings, McKaen Dyess, and Raven and Kougar Lanier, all of Havre, MT, and Chris and Kaly Maetche, both of Winnett, Montana; Kade’s children, Kaison, Kenzley, Kadeison, Legacy, and baby Lanier due in 2025; his uncles, Mike and Ted Lanier; and aunt, Tami (Lanier) Hanson.
