Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

Take it easy

You know, Lord, sometimes it's pleasing to read how some folks got together and did things together, some years back. No author was given but the writer mentioned how their family loved going to grandparent's house as grandma's favorite words were: "Take it easy!" Twins were mentioned – no age given, but they told grandma that they were going to learn how to swim: 'It's going to happen Friday!' Well, grandma touched her heart, took a deep breath and said: "Now you two, swimming is not an easy job to do. Grandpa and I never got to learn how to do that, so you two, take it easy." Grandpa just smiled.

Remembering more days of old, one teenager stopped in to see grandma, mentioning that she and her boyfriend were going to take a hike, and while hiking, she was hoping her boyfriend would ask her to marry him. Oh my! Grandma, for sure put her hand over her heart and said, "I will pray for your safety and protection while you are hiking but do remember, to take it easy! One's timing is important, so ... " But Granny didn't finish THAT sentence.

Sometime later, several other grandkids visited: granny said: "Look what I discovered which cleaning my house. Here's a Bible my mother had! Look what she underlined in Deuteronomy 32:7: 'Remember the days of old: consider the generations long past. Ask you father and he will tell you, your elders and they will explain to you.' I'd forgotten I had my mama's Bible; is there an old Bible from your hubby's family? Open it, read your favorite scripture passages, or see if whoever had it, underlined a few verses, like my mother did. Just take it easy, flipping through the pages – it's precious and fun and will remind you just how much God cares for you and loves you; just 'take it easy' while doing that."

Love Mara
