Northern volleyball drops three in Arizona

The Montana State University-Northern volleyball team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end last week in Arizona.

Northern opened the road trip with a loss to Ottawa University of Arizona by scores of 18-25, 25-21, 16-25, 26-24 and 15-17. The Skylights were led by Alana Graves with 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .333. Alyssa Pretty Weasel added 11 kills with a percent of .265. Baily Egan led the team in digs with 26 each. Emily Feller led the Skylights with 21 assists.

MSU-N was also swept on day one by Benedictine University, by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-22.

On the second day of the event, the Skylights lost a tough match to host Arizona Christian. The match went to the Firebirds by scores of 23-25, 25-19, 13-25 and 18-25. The Skylights were led by Alana Graves with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .304 and added nine blocks. Josie Hasler added 10 kills with a percent of .219. Hasler led the team in digs with 21 each. Macee Murphy led the Skylights with 19 assists.

The Skylights are now 5-4 on the season. They play a Kids Day exhibition match against Medicine Hat College on Friday at the Armory Gymnasium.
