Charles Danny Hulett died at his home June 27, 2024, with his wife, Lenora, by his side at the age of 74 after an heroic five-year battle with lung cancer.
Dan, or Danny, as he was called by his family and friends was born June 7, 1950 to Mary Jane and Charles W. Hulett in Havre, MT. He attended Washington grade school and graduated from Havre High. He then went on to Northern Montana College, and the University of Missoula, where he received a degree in English Literature. He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad in Havre and then Interbay Railyard in Seattle, WA, for a combined 30 years until retiring in 2010.
Dan met his loving companion and wife Lenora Salandi, whom he lovingly called Lenny, in 1990. He was an avid fan of Duplicate Bridge and became a Life Master along with his bridge partner and wife Lenora. They continued to play duplicate bridge until just a couple of weeks before his death. Dan was an accomplished photographer, singer, poet and he and his wife loved to travel and went on cruises to Hawaii, Europe, and Australia where he was able to indulge in his passion for rock collecting.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Patricia and his brothers Joe and David.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, her children and grandchildren, sister Mickey (Joseph) Sebes of KS, brothers Fred, Jim, and Tom (Michael Mary), all of Havre and 13 nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home, 16806 134th St. NE, Arlington, WA 98223, Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
Dan was extremely intelligent, very handsome, and a good man. He will be missed.
