Havre High volleyball team ready to start the new year

The Havre Blue Ponies are ready to go, as the new high school volleyball season gets underway.,

Tryouts are over and the Ponies, under head coach Cassie Krueger, are ready to make their season debut. The Ponies will play in the Eastern A Tip-off this weekend in Helena.

It's a big season for the Ponies as they return tons of talent. 

Of course, that talent will have to fight through a tough Eastern A schedule, and plenty of fun preseason tournaments.

The HHS schedule will include the Havre Tip-Off Tournament Sept. 6-7, followed by a match at Eastern A power Hardin Sept. 13. Havre comes back home to host Glendive Sept. 14, then visits Lewistown Sept. 20. The Ponies have three straight at home to start October, with Miles City, rival Billings Central and Lewistown, before traveling to Sidney and Glendive Oct. 11-12. 

On Oct. 18-19 and Havre will play Blocktoberfest in Butte, followed by home matches against Browning and Sidney, and a trip to Miles City Nov. 1. The Eastern A Divisional will be held Nov. 7-9 in Lewistown and the Class A state tournament is Nov. 14-16 in Bozeman.

The Ponies open their season at this weekend's Eastern A Tip-Off hosted by East Helena.
