After only getting in half of the season-opening Great Falls Invitational to start the 2024 high school golf season, the Havre Blue Ponies playeds a whirlwind schedule their first week.
Havre opened the week at the Class AA Great Falls Invite last Monday and Tuesday, then came home for the annual Havre Invitational held at Prairie Farms and Beaver Creek Golf Courses.
Havre won their tournaments inn the varsity competition, and individualll the Ponies swept the titles as Matt Huse shot 79 to place first on the boys side and Tierra Parker 99 to win the girls tournament.
The HHS bout also got a third-place finish from Noah Barrett in the boys tournament, while Callen Stoner added an 82, Quinn Elliott a 93 and Evan Alisch a 97 for the boys.
On the girls side, Callie Bebee shot 106 to take second and Madison Reber finished with a 110 to place third the Havre home meet. Liliana Smith added 115 to round out the scoring for the Ponies.
The very next day, Havre headed to Shelby for the Browning Invitational at Marias Valley Golf Club.
In a tough field composed of much fo the Western A, the HHS boys took fourth in Shelby, led by an 80 from Huse, who finished sixth. Elliott fired an 86, Barrett and Stoner each shot 89 and Alisch shot 92 too round out the scoring for the Ponies.
On the girls side, the Ponies took an excellent third overall, with Parker shooting 104 for ninth place. Smith finished with a 106, Bebee a 114, Reber a 119 and Mckenna Delozier shot 124 to round things out for Havre's first week of the golf season.
The Ponies won't be back in action until Sept. 3 when they attend the Jawbone Classic Match Play in Harlowton.
