Northern Montana Hospital adds two new pediatric cribs

Acquisition is thanks to Volunteer Services donation

Press release

Northern Montana Hospital representatives said they are thrilled to announce the acquisition of two state-of-the-art TOM 2 Pediatric Cribs, made possible through a generous donation from the hospital's dedicated volunteer organization.

The TOM 2 Pediatric Cribs are fully electrically operated beds designed specifically for children, featuring a modern design that brings comfort and safety to pediatric care. These cribs are not only designed for comfort but also ensure the highest safety standards, meeting the newest requirements for pediatric beds. The beds' unobstructed access makes it easier for healthcare providers to deliver care, while also allowing parents to stay close to their little ones, fostering a more comforting and supportive environment.

NMH Director of Med/Surg Tempy McBride, expressed her excitement about the new additions.

"We are absolutely thrilled to provide these advanced TOM 2 cribs to our pediatric patients and their families," McBride said. "These cribs represent a step forward in our ongoing efforts to offer the best possible care and comfort to our youngest patients. We are incredibly grateful to our volunteer organization for their hard work in raising the funds needed to make this purchase a reality."

The volunteer organization, led by Director Elizabeth Lindbom, has played a crucial role in supporting NMH through various initiatives. Following the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Lindbom took on the task of rebuilding the group from the ground up. Her leadership has been instrumental in revitalizing volunteer efforts, leading to an increase in numbers. Consequently, volunteers now staff the Hospital and Care Center gift shops, the hospitality cart, and the visitor information desk.

"This is truly a triumph for our volunteer organization," Lindbom said. "After the pandemic, it was difficult to get back on our feet, but our current group of volunteers has shown remarkable dedication. We were excited to raise the funds needed for these cribs, and to now see them in use is incredibly rewarding. It's a reminder of the power of community and what we can achieve when we come together for a common cause."

The purchase of the TOM 2 Pediatric Cribs marks a significant milestone for NMH as it continues to advance its focus on community and service. The cribs will provide a more comfortable and caring environment for pediatric patients, families, and providers, ensuring that Northern Montana Hospital remains at the forefront of quality, compassionate health care.
