Robert was born April 4, 1933, in Havre to Leo and Alma “Goldie” (Goldberg) Sticka. He was raised on the farm, graduating from Havre High School in 1951, and in 1953, he married Mary Lou. The couple had three children. In 1955, he began working for the Great Northern Railroad, and worked until 1993, when he retired.

After retirement, he and Mary Lou became snowbirds for about 20 years, when they elected to remain in Havre year-round.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and prospecting. He loved boating and his motor home. Retirement was a dream come true for him, as it allowed him to spend time with his wife and the rest of his family. Watching “The Price Is Right” and “Jeopardy” was the highlight of his day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Goldie Sticka.

Robert is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Lou Sticka of Havre; sons, Sandy and Timothy (Char) Sticka, of Havre; daughter, Cindy Lund of Havre; two grandchildren, Sara (Dane) Kraske of Havre and Kimmari (Travis) Nielsen of Missoula; five great-grandchildren, Kerrington, LuLu, and Kinsley Kraske, and Kilian and Kaiya Nielsen; two brothers, Bill and Pat Sticka; and several nieces and nephews.
