The Salvation Army, Walmart provide back-to-school clothes for children in need

The Salvation Army Northwest and Walmart are providing an opportunity to children and families in need to shop for new back-to-school clothing.

The event is completely funded by donations to The Salvation Army. People can donate at alarmy.us/btsoldnavy.

A release said the program will provide 800 children in need with new clothing to start the new year. Each child receives $150 worth of clothing.

The Salvation Army has been providing clothes for back to school for more than 30 years, the release said.

Volunteers who work with The Salvation Army are coming to partner with children and take them shopping for new clothes at Walmart Aug. 23.
