Pastor's Corner: No compromise

Greetings Hi-Line,

May the grace and peace of God our Father overwhelm you today.

I hope that your summer has been filled with good times, good recreation and good ministry. It seems that the first two are so easy to do but the last one, ministry, is something we have to work at. But ministry is one we live daily, minute by minute because our lives minister to everyone we have contact with. Whether you are Christian or not your life affects others, family, friends, co-workers and so on. As Christians we should be a shining light to those around us, letting them see the outward appearance of Christ that we have within our mind, body, and soul.

The apostle Paul writes in Galatians 5:22-23, (But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.) Now, who would not want to be around a person that has those qualities.? That is the person we should be to the world because in the next verse Paul states (24, And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires).

Paul is saying in verse 24 that we should have no compromise with the world and its way of thinking. In what we watch, read, and listen to, our speech should reflect the attitude of Christ, not demeaning but uplifting speaking life into others and not death, speaking the truth of the hope we have even if it offends.

2 Timothy 4:2 says (preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching).

We as sold-out Christ followers should love the broken, the poor, the lost, the least and the left behind. Let our lives be a testimony of the love Jesus has for all of mankind.

To all my family, friends and unbelievers, Jesus has paid the price of our separation from God by His death on the cross because our disobedience to His commandments, our sin has been blotted out of Heaven, this promise is for all who not just believe but who have surrendered their life to Jesus. His resurrection from the grave gave us the Holy Spirit that we may live the abundant life, to do the next right thing even when the world says otherwise. For me, the radical change of my life can only be attributed to the supernatural work of God. If you want to live as our creator intended for you, go all in for Jesus and you too can be filled with the fruit of the Spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control. Now who wouldn't want to be around that!

Galatians 6:9-10

( And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith).

Praying you find God's peace, God's grace and God's mercy today.

Love to all!!
