Havre’s law enforcement agencies are again bringing a night of socialization and entertainment to people in the community with Havre’s National Night Out set for Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The night, running from 6-8 p.m. on the Montana University-Northern SUB drive, is hosted by Havre Police Department in conjunction with Hill County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Border Patrol Havre Sector, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Havre Station, Hill County Search and Rescue, Havre Fire Department/Emergency Medical Services, the FBI, Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department, NorthWestern Energy and several Havre service organizations.
The night features, along with live music by Havre’s Blind Luck, a special agency helicopter — the National Guard will be bringing a Blackhawk medivac helicopter if it is available that night — special activities sponsored by the Army National Guard and a classic Car sponsored by the Law Enforcement Museum.
The night has a free barbecue, sponsored by Havre Lions Club, with donations accepted and proceeds going to the Havre Food Bank.
A Crime Stopper’s Raffle with the drawing to be held during National Night Out features a cooler donated by Havre Distributors with tickets $5 each or five for $20, and all proceeds to Havre/Hill County Crimestoppers.
Havre Police Protective Association also is holding a gun raffle to be drawn at the event, though people need not be present to win.
The raffle will sell 500 tickets at $20 each with eight chances to win. The prices are a Smith & Wesson FPC 9 mm, a Winchester Ranger 22 LR, a Glock Gen4 any caliber, a ruler American Gen2 223, a Tisas 1911 Yukon 10 mm, a Springfield SA-35 9 mm, a 2020 Waypoint 22LR Spring Field Grad A and a set of Lone Mountain coolers, 20 quart, 45 quart and 75 quart.
Winners can redeem the guns at Bing’N’ Bob’s.
