Havre Public works announced today that the nonessential use of water still is restricted in Havre, but the restrictions have been eased.
For residential lawn grass irrigation, people may water lawns form 7 p.m. Tuesdays to 5 a.m. the following Wednesday.
People west of Fifth Avenue may water lawns from 7 p.m. Thursdays to 5 a.m. the following Friday.
Washing cars is permitted as necessary. People are told not to leave hoses running and to use buckets or spray nozzles to conserve water.
Restricted watering compliance still is in effect, the release said. First offense will result in a warning and further noncompliance may result in a monetary fine or disconnection of the violator's water service.
