Blaine County Fair starts next week with a special starter Saturday

The Blaine County Fair gets under full blast next week with the carnival opening and the PRCA Bear Paw Roundup Rodeo starting Thursday, but rodeo action begins this week.

The Junior Rodeo will be at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Saturday starting at 10 a.m., with a full list of events set for the young cowboys and cowgirls.

A free carnival is set to run starting Thursday, and the Bear Paw Roundup starts at 7 p.m. both Thursday and Friday.

The rodeo has some added attractions, with Monkey on a Rope, an Outhouse Race, Gizmo McCracken the award-winning rodeo clown and National Finals Rodeo regular act and specialty act Thomas Garcilazo with Charro on the Road.

And the annual favorite demolition derby is back, with the Small Town Beat Down Demolition Derby set up by a new group of volunteers and set to start Saturday at 6 p.m. It has some new attractions and boasts the biggest payout Chinook has ever seen, the fair website says.

Blaine County 4-H is set with a full schedule to run through the fair.

And a regular favorite also is back, with Pippi the Clown returning to this year’s fair.
