Local Golf Report: Heat is the story in local golf

Talk about a heater. That's what Havre and the Hi-Line is on right now when it comes to the weather.

But, heat waves also mean the Hi-Line is entrenched in summer and summer means golf season. And the 2024 golf season os rolling along.

In men's league at Prairie Farms Golf Course, the second half of the season is underway with Montana Outfitting Co. leading Tuesday night with 89 points, while D.A. Davidson is in first place on Wednesday night with 125 points.

In ladies league last week at Prairie Farms, Scharfe, Kato and Co. scored 22.5 points for high team, while Ali Ward shot an even-par 36 for low gross. Chandra Mooney and Abby Nicholas shared low net, each with a 31.

Tournament season is also ongoing. It's not too late to sign up for the Duel on the Prairie Member Guest Tournament at Prairie Farms. The two-person tournament is set for Aug. 2-3. Call the Pro Shop for more information.

Also, another reminder that Havre High golf season ill begin Aug. 15. Make sure your student-athlete has their Sports Physical before then so they can participate on opening day.
