Northstars sweep Redbirds on the road

The Havre Northstars American Legion baseball team kept their recent winning streak going when they won a pair of Northern District games on Sunday afternoon.

On the road, Havre swept the Lewistown Redbirds in a pair of tight games.

Havre won the the first game 3-0, as the Northstars held the Redbirds scoreless, while the Northstars were scoreless through seven innings. Havre scored all three runs in the top of the eighth inninng. Jevin Jenkins doubled, Chason Mader singled and Logan Kinsella hit into a fielders choice, each scoring one run and that would be all the runs needed. Terek Shipp pitched all 8 innings for the Northstars.

The Northstars also won Game Two 5-2. Havre's pitching  Mader had two big hits, while Quinn Elliott, Logan Kinsella, Ezra Pyle and Terek Shipp all reached base as well. Tommy Lewis, Teegan Solomon and Tanner DeLarosa did the pitching. They allowed just three hits and struck out 11 Lewistown batters as Havre improved 21-14 on the season.

Havre's march through district play continues this weekend as the Northstars host Medicine Hat tonight and Vauxhall on Saturday at Legion Field.
