Montana State University-Northern Rodeo head coach Doug Kallenberger has announced the signing of two new stars to the program.
Kallenberger has announced the signing of Chance ThreeIrons to join the Light program next year. ThreeIrons is 6-3 freshman, team roper from Indian Fort Smith, Montana. He was a two-time Infr qualifier, and an NSI champion team roper. In 2022, he was the Infr third go round champion. While at Northern, he will be majoring in Plumbing and Welding. Chance is the son of Clay ThreeIrons and Carrie Hugs.
When asked why he chose Northern he replied: "I chose MSU Northern because I enjoyed the college visit and really liked the welding and plumbing program and I also have a few friends and family attending Northern."
Kallenberger also signed Harley Buchberger to the Skylights program for next year.
Buchberger is 5-4 Barrel Racer and Breakaway Roper from Indian Head Saskatchewan. She has had a successful four years in high school. In 2024, Buchberger was the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Year end champion and season leader champion. She was also Manitoba High School Rodeo year end pole being champion in 2021. She is a two-time National Junior High School Rodeo Finals Qualifier and a five-time Canadian High School Rodeo Finals Qualifier.
While she at Northern, she will be majoring in Nursing. Harley is the daughter of Mark and Shannon Buchberger.
When asked why she chose Northern she replied: "I chose MSUN for the opportunities it can provide students and athletes, as well as the great nursing program."
