The Havre Northstars American Legion baseball club had a four-game homestead over the weekend, and they went a stellar 3-1 in Northern District play.
On Saturday at Legion Field, the Northstars opened the homestand with a 4-3 loss to the Lethbridge Miners. Terek Shipp and Chason Mader had RBIs for Havre, but Lethbridge scored the game-winning run-in the sixth inning and Havre was unable to answer.
The Northstars did answer in the nightcap, with a 3-2 win over the Miners. Jevin Jenkins brought in Tyson Brandon to give Havre an early lead, and later, Colter Solomon and Tanner DeLarosa scored on a double by Quinn Elliott. Shipp picked up the win on the mound for Havre.
On Sunday, Havre returned to Legion Field, and dominated the Fort MacLeod Royals in the a conference doubleheader.
In game one, the Northstars won 5-0 with Mader tossing a 3-hit shutout. Connor Essert, Quinn Elliot, Tyson Brandon, and Ezra Pyle all had RBIs in the win.
Havre finished off the weekend with an explosive 16-8 win. DeLarosa, Tommy Lewis and Jenkins all had big outings at the plate for Havre as they improved to 4-0 against the Royals on the season.
Havre will remain home to host Tri-County in a doubleheader on Tuesday night at Legion Field.
