Milk River Gobblers Youth Fun Day

Milk River Gobblers Public Relations Officer Jeff Dibblee invited the public to kick the summer off by going to the Milk River Gobblers Youth Fun Day.

“This is our third year of sponsoring this event,” he said. “The Gobblers thought it would be a great way to pass on the heritage of sport shooting and safe gun handling.”

The event is set for Saturday, July 13, at the Havre Trap Club south of Havre, east of the softball complex where Fifth Avenue turns into Beaver Creek Highway, Montana Secondary Highway 234.

It is open to all youths 8-14 years old, is free and lunch is provided.

Kids are invited to sign up for some nice prizes, too, Dibbled said.

“As stated, this is a fun event and educational as well,” he added. “Every year we try to add something different. And this year is no exception.”

The Gobblers have invited Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to play a part in educating Havre’s youth.

“Fish, Wildlife and Parks will be on site, with many displays and valuable information,” Dibblee said, “The challenge is trying to break the helium balloons or clay pigeons. There is much emphasis on safety and gun handling.”

Dibblee says parents are urged to join in on this fun family event.

“The Milk River Gobblers have always stressed the belief of Share the Hunt, Save the Heritage attitude towards our youth,” he said. The Gobblers encourage young hunters to get out and enjoy our great state of Montana and see the wonders that God has given all of us.”

Dibblee shared some of his favorite memories from past Youth Days, and describes the event and everything the public can find at this Fun Day.

“Some of the other attractions will be game calls, the concept of trapping, and my favorite, new recipes. And last, but not least, you will hear a lot of ‘hunting’ talk. If you can, stop by and see what it’s all about. Grab some very good BBQ and get your face painted by original ‘Redneck’ camo.”
