Chinook's Friends of the Pool and Parks Foundation in the last few days have extended thanks to several more people and groups that have helped the foundation move closer to its goal of rehabilitating the Chinook Pool and the Ensign Sweet Memorial Park.
The former Jumping Juniper Garden Club organization donated nearly $1,200 of funds that they had raised over the years to the Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation for improvements to the pool and park, the foundation said in a release, adding that the garden club recently disbanded, and the remaining funds they had were given to the foundation for the pool and park projects.
'The Friends of the Pool would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Garden Club Members for their commitment to the community of Chinook," a release said.
The foundation members also thanked Mark and Betty Blimayer of Chinook for their support of the project.
A release said the Billmayers have given financially to the Chinook Pool and Park Project and they have also donated a great amount of time and fundraising as well.
"Betty was instrumental in several fundraisers that have raised valuable donations toward the Pool and Park Project," the release said. "The organization would like to extend their sincere thanks to Mark and Betty for their commitment to the community of Chinook."
And the foundation members also thanked Lois Butcher of Chinook for her donation to the project.
