Locals compete in Montana's All-Star Weekend

Several area athletes were part of what was a massive weekend for Montana High School Sports, as the annual Montana East-West Shrine Game, the Montana-Wyoming All-Star Series and the Montana All-Star Volleyball Game were all held over the weekend.

On the hardwood, Chinook;s Hallie Neibauer helped the Montana All-Star Team to another swap over Wyoming. In Montana’s 90-68 win for Montana in Gillette, Wyoming on Friday night Neibauer scored 10 points. The series moved to Billings on Saturday night where Montana won 76-35 as Neibauer chipped in with six points as Montana won for the 15th straight time.

Also in Billings on Saturday night, the 77th East West Shrine Game was held where Havre High’s Brisbin Reiter played linebacker for the East Team. And while the West dominated the game 48-20, Reiter did have a forced fumble and five tackles. Reiter’s forced fumble led to ann East touchdown. He’ll be returning to Billings later this summer to begin playing for Rocky Mountain College.

A pair of Montana State University-Northern recruits also played over the weekend as MSU-Northern basketball recruit Maurice Redhorn iii was a top scorer for Montana in the boys Montana-Wyoming Series. Redhorn III is from Browning. 

Meanwhile, in the Montana All-Star Volleyball Game, Hardin;s Macy Uffelman had 11 kills for the Red Team. Uffelman is coming to MSU-N to play volleyball for head coach Jerry Wagner.
