Four Montana State University-Northern rodeo standouts competed in the 2024 College National Finals Rodeo last week in Casper, Wyoming.
And one Light made it all the way to the final go-around.
Last Saturday night, Northern junior Garrett Cunningham was in the final round of the Saddle Bronc riding where he scored a 71.5 on his last ride of the rodeo. It wasn't enough to win the Saddle Bronc national championship, but it did put him in the Top 10 for 2024.
Northern's Mikennna Schauer finished 14th overall in Breakaway Roping. Over three rounds at the CNFR he had an average of 17.3. Her teammate, Georgia Orahoood also placed 35th in breakway.
Schauer also placed 24th overall in Goat Tying for the Skylights, while Kendra Statham finished 4th. Schauer had an excellent rodeo as she also finished fourth overall in the Women's All-Around. As a team, the Skylights took 26th place in what was their third straight CNNFR appearance.
