Fair Board finalizes summer plans

Great Northern Fair Board members met Monday evening to wrap up the last details that needed attention before the fairgrounds take off for the summer.

Fairgrounds Manager Frank English discussed many improvements during his fair manager’s report. Renovations and repairs to the horse barn and 4-H exhibit were mentioned, as well as preparations for new bathrooms and second set of bathrooms, which has been a project that English has been focused on for the last year.

The Ark Church donated 40-45 chairs in good condition to be used for seating during the fair.

The members were told of two recent successful events hosted at the fairgrounds, The Car Show and the Everything Antique Show. The fairgrounds have 3 more events planned for the summer. The Hi-Line Hustle will be on June 22 and 23. A Havre Youth Baseball Association event will be June 27 and July 16.

The Great Northern Fair will be from July 17-21.

The next Fair Board meeting will be held on August 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Community Center.
