Skylights land former Hardin standout

It's been a busy recruiting season for Montana State University-Northern women's basketball coach Chris Mouat. Last week, Mouat announced the signing of 5-7 guard Aiyanna Big Man.  Big Man recently completed her first year at Cowley Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas.  She is a 2023 graduate of Hardin High School.

This season, Big Man had her season cut short due to injury.  She appeared in 10 games and started 6, averaging just under 8 points per game.  She recorded season-highs of 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

"Aiyanna is a talented player with a lot to offer," Mouat said. "She was a very good player in high school, playing for Coach Cindy Farmer, and was off to a good start at Cowley before getting hurt.  She can really extend defenses with her range from the three-point line, and she does a nice job of getting the ball to the open person.  We are excited about her future as a Skylight."

At Hardin, Big Man helped lead the Bulldogs to a Class A state title appearance in 2023.  She was a First Team All-Conference and All-State selection while averaging double figures and graduated with a 3.4 grade point average.

Aiyanna is the daughter of Luzenia YellowMule and Dr. Alden Big Man She plans on majoring in Integrated Health Science at MSU-Northern.
