Local Golf Report: A lot of congrats to go around

From Tee to Green

Last week marked the start of tournament golf in Havre, and as always, it began with the annual Golf for a Cure Tournament at Prairie Farms Golf Course.

The tournament, which benefits local cancer causes, was once again an amazing event, and it featured fun, friends, family and lots of golf.

Shelbi, Jessica and Justin Darlington, along with Gabe Shrank were the overall winners of the 18-hole scramble at Prairie Farms, but, thanks to the hard work of so many people who not only play, but step up and organize and volunteer for this event, there will be a lot of people who will benefit from the event down the road.

It was a big week for the Darlington's as well. Lisa Darlington got a bucket-list hole-in-one last week. She aced the Par-3 17th hole at Prairie Farms, with a 7-iron from 87 yards out. Way to go Lisa!

There was only one week of men's league at Prairie last week, as Jeremy Jensen was low gross with a 35 and Chad Spangler was low net with a 34.

In women's league last week, Ali Ward was low gross with a 40, while Jessica Fagerbakke was low net with a 31. Patrick Construction was high team with 24 points. The squad was made up of Katie Heath, Sue Armstrong, Carolyn Patrick and Stacy Mantle.

In men's league at Beaver Creek Golf Course, Nalivkas is in first place after week on Thursday nights and Western Trailer Sales is in first on Monday nights.

BCGC's tournament season has also begun. The North Star Fathers Day Tournament will be held this weekend at BCGC.

Meanwhile, at Prairie Farms Golf Course, the tournament schedule continues this weekend with the Northern Lights Golf Classic.
