Phillips County Coroner this afternoon released to Havre Weekly Chronicle the name of a man who died in a car crash between Dodson and Malta last week.
Robert Micheal Grimm of Havre, 39, was the man who died in the crash last Friday, June 7, 2024..
Montana Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 2 at Mile Marker 462 near Malta.
The Ford F-150 driven by Grimm was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 2 at 5:25 a.m. Friday when it drifted off the right side of the road and hit a delineator, the crash report said. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle reentered the highway. The pickup then went into a passenger-side skid and crossed the center line.
The vehicle rolled and entered the eastbound ditch, the report said, rolling one more time. The pickup came to rest on its wheels about 80 feet of the road in the eastbound ditch facing east. It sustained significant damage to its top and right side.
Grimm was not wearing a seatbelt, the report said, and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.
